NFT Photography — Collector & Creator Relationships

Photography has carried its adventure that started with analog to digital platform in the last 15–20 years. Nowadays, photographers create value by tokenizing their digitally produced works on the blockchain network. We can briefly call this NFT production. Photography as a visual expression language is defined as #nftphotography these days. However, there is something disturbing.

People involuntarily ask themselves. What have I been up to now? For myself; I am a fashion and portrait photographer. I am about to finish my 20th year in this profession. To find myself under the heading #nftphotographer suddenly surprised me a little.

An adjective created without looking at any photographic category. Platforms such as twitter, which do not have a categorization system in their infrastructure, have also managed to gather every photographer under one roof. But this is not Twitter’s fault, Twitter is not a photo-based platform.

So what are the problems caused by this situation? When I look at it from a collector’s point of view, I see it as a dusty battlefield. No one wonders what kind of photography collectors like. sometimes even shilling under the collector’s non “nftphotography” tweets. How logical it is to send portraits to someone who likes landscape or city photos, or to send astrophotos to those who love portraits. or to shill a photo to a collector who doesn’t mention photography at all. that’s exactly what Twitter cannot categorize this point. but I want to say it again. it’s not Twitter’s job. I think the real problem is that the artists don’t read the descriptions. just as they do not consider the substructure of the adjective given to them.

What is “NFTPhotographers”?

Are they artists who produce photographs in real life and tokenize their works on blockchain?

Or

Are they only photo producers who produce content for the NFT world, Metaverse etc.., according to their needs?

My First Photo in Oculus Quest II — Big Screen (In Frame: me & my American friend from Los Angeles)

I’m going to show you a Metaverse photo on the left side.

Please don’t laugh, this is what happens under current conditions. I’m sure it will be much better soon.

nftphotography” is just a title. A step towards innovation in photography. It’s not a type of photography. think about it again. Photography is a type of art that has many branches and requires narrative ability, it is not possible to collect it under a single title. each type has its own tactical, technical and technical requirements.

By the way, I have absolutely no problem with #nftphotography or #nftphotographers. I would like to point this out. This profession, which has struggled with Instagram algorithms for years, is now struggling with Twitter algorithms. Actually, these platforms don’t really care about photography. What makes me think is that many photographers misidentify themselves by getting caught up in these titles. Trying to produce work according to the wishes and tastes of the NFT world. and write nftphotographer on their profile. No matter what branch of art you look at, it is not artistry to produce work to order or to produce work for the general audience. It is merchandising. I do not believe that this mentality will provide a forward turn and create a sustainable metaworld.

As I mentioned above, those who constantly shill even the irrelevant comments of the Collectors cannot witness the emergence of nftphotography. It’s more than just something you can sell and make money on. This is a legacy you will leave to future generations. You have to lay the foundation right.

Now you can say, @LeBackpacker’s page name is ”nftphotographers”. Yes, that’s a page name, actually a title. A platform name where photographers who tokenize their photos will showcase their work. It is not an adjective that photographers attach to themselves.

By the way, I would like to emphasize that https://nftphotographers.xyz/, which we saw in @LeBackpacker ‘s project, is doing a very important job. That is seeing the goal right. A team that can get this categorization right. An extremely valuable step. A new milestone for photography. When I examine the system they have made, it is clear that it was made by a photographer or team who know their job.

https://nftphotographers.xyz/ categorization system

On the left, you can see exactly how accurate the categorization has been made. moreover, the platform offers other special categories according to the needs of the NFT community.

the platform also offers other special categories based on the needs of the NFT community

Steps are taken to create value on a decentralized platform not only for photography, but for all branches of art, against all the troubles, problems, copyright issues and rights violations experienced to date in IRL.

This is not where you save the day, but where you shape the future.

Thanks for your time..
